: *sighs heavily*
I fear I have done it to myself again.
Let me explain.
I have pretty much avoided getting overly involved in television since QAF ended. Not that I don't watch it, but I haven't gotten "hooked" on anything even remotely like QAF since 513 aired. I got into Jericho but not rabidly. I was glad when it came back for a few episodes, and I'm DVRing them each week, but if it ends, no trauma - I'll survive. Same with Lost.....watch it, don't obsess over it. I've been so busy I haven't really had time to get that involved, and nothing has "hit" me, really. I know I'm hooked when I think about a show when I'm NOT watching it and that just hasn't happened since QAF wrapped.
But that all ended a few weeks ago when I was hunting for something to do and watched an episode of "Moonlight" online. Well, that was all it took -- one fucking episode and I was hooked. I'm completely traumatized because a) they're STRAIGHT - WTF???? and b) the future of the show is seriously up in the air. There may not be a season 2, though it's not officially decided yet. No doubt the show is on shaky ground. There are 12 episodes (all safely living on my new iPod) and 4 more scheduled to air beginning April 25th, and that might just be the end of it.
DAMMIT. WHY does this always happen to me. Whatever happened to networks putting on cool TV shows and leaving them there for a while so you could enjoy them???? Now it seems like the audiences are fighting the networks tooth and nail just to keep something decent on, in the midst of all the fucking 'reality' bullshit. What the hell!!! I don't watch to watch people fighting with each other on an island or in some house somewhere, or a bunch of people I don't know dancing, or a bunch of people with no talent trying to get famous. I have no interest in watching a bunch of idiots chasing imaginary ghosts, trying to get a date, or cleaning somebody else's house. I just want a good, interesting story with good actors that I can escape into every few days or so, and I want it to have a beginning and an end and I want it to stay in one place and at one time so I can find the damned thing when I want to watch it. Is that too much to ask??????????????
Jeez -- I just reread this and it's quite a rant. And I didn't even mention George Bush once!!!!
